Social St. What is History? Sept. 25th, 2014

For What Is History? 

We discussed the time line of Universal History.

We agreed on a definition for History, and we developed a Mind Map with some factors that have directly affected the evolution of humanity in History:

• Who Study the Past?
• Social Factors
• Political Factors
• Economic Factors
• Geographic Factors

We reviewed the map of the world, its Hemispheres, its Continents, Oceans and Seas. We draw it and labeled on the notebook.

Spelling Lesson #1 September 24th, 2014

The Spelling book was turned in to you this day, we worked on Lesson #1 pages 18 to 23. Make sure the activities are complete, the lesson will be checked on Friday 26th. 

Remeber to cover it with contact paper, it will make the book last longer in good conditions, and please identify it with your name.

Science: The Soil Formation, Sept 23rd, 2014

Classwork

  Time, Rock Type, Climate, Slope of Land, Plants and Animals.

-Definitions:

  Permeability, Physical Weathering, Chemical Weathering, Humus, and Aerate. 

Homework Due Sept. 30th, 2014. 

Search the internet for pictures of places in our planet which have suffered changes due to erosion. Choose 5 of them, print them and paste them in your Science notebook. Write a short description to each picture naming the place you chose and how did it change after erosion effects. 

You can also draw the images you found if you have printing trouble, or visit the school library if you do not have internet access.

Spelling Class and Homework Sepember 22nd, 2014

Hi Guys! This is the summary of our class today, and the homework you´ve been assigned for next Wednesday 25th, 2014. 

Classwork

• We copied the new vocabulary (20 words), Lesson #1 on the notebook, as well as each definition and parts of the speech. 
• We discussed meanings and examples in class.
• We copied and discussed the Phonics of these words ¨Short Vowels.¨
• We wrote 10 sentences combining two (2) of the new words in each one. 

Homework (Due Wednesday 25th, 2014)

• Write a short story (15 lines) in which you narrate a mystery you can come up with or retell. Be creative, and use 10 of the new words we learned today. Remember to underline these words, and take care of your spelling and presentation.

This school year 2014 – 2015 is a great opportunity for all of you to enjoy the final stage of your childhood, and get ready to live new experiences as adolescents in a future coming.  Do not let the chance pass you by!
