Social Studies: Chinese Revolution

Classwork: 
Students present about this topic and fill the chart with the provided information.

Answer Critical Thinking Questions: 
1- Why did the leader Sun believe that China had to free from the foreign rule? 
2-What is the meaning of the Communist Party Slogan "More, faster, better, cheaper?" What does it refer to? 

Homework: due Wednesday 3rd. 
Make a chart to compare the following topics learned in the four previous revolutions (including China's) and the war (WWI). 
Answer: 
1- Which group or social class did mainly lead the movement? 
2- Was this revolution or movement worth the casualties and struggles? 
3- What interesting fact did you learn about it? 

Math: Geometry: triangles and quadrilatelars

Classwork: 
Copy all the triangles and quadrilaterals classifications and characteristics. 

Practice: 
Page 308, exercises 1 to 11. 

Spelling Lesson #31

Classwork: 
We had our Spelling Bee on Monday. We will work on this lesson activities on Friday 29th. There will be NO quiz this week. 

Homework: due Wednesday 27th. 
Write the 30-word list #31 in your notebook and assign at least 2 key words or meaning to each.

Classwork: 
We practiced the words of the list 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 for our Spelling Bee on Friday 22nd. We played games reviewing the spelling and meaning of the words.

Science Fair Ahead

Dear Students, 

Our Annual Science Fair is approaching!! We have been working very hard on our projects and now comes the moment to shine. We have a couple more weeks to finish details:

  • Make sure you already memorized you part in this presentation, and that your pronunciation is brilliant
  • Check your display is ready and it does not show any spelling mistake, or any harm. 
  • Find all materials needed for the due date. Bring extra quantities if necessary; remember you will present a couple of times. 
  • Get ready for rehearsal this and next week. You will be evaluated. 
  • Find all supportive materials you would like to bring with you that day. 

Congratulations in advance for such a wonderful and dedicated work!!! You rock!!

Classwork: 
We read the class in the Science Magazine  pages 24 to 39 and we answered the following questions: 

1- What is force? 
2- What are some effects of forces over matter? 
3- What is friction?
4- What does friction depend on? 
5- What are the 2 consequences of friction? 
6- How does friction act? 
7- What is gravity? 
8- What does gravity depend on? 

Homework: due Wednesday 20th. 
Do critical thinking questions 1 to 5 on page 39.

Do the Spelling Lesson #29 in your books, pages 186 to 189.

Students presented about the French Revolution and provided information for filling the chart in the notebook.

1- Which were the mistakes of the French Monarchy that led to a rebellion of the french people? 

2- Why was this revolution one of the bloodiest?

Sciences: Forces at Work

Classwork: 
We begin a new Science Magazine this week, about forces and motion. In Class we checked the new vocabulary related to this new subject: 

-Average Speed 
-Physicist
-Velocity
-Speed 
-Constant Speed
-Acceleration

Answer critical thinking Questions on page 23, activities 1 to 5. 

Homework: due Wednesday 13th. 
Investigate about Newton's 3 Laws of Motion. Summarize the information in your notebook and illustrate your work. 

Spelling Lesson #28

Classwork: 
We reviewed the new list of words, and we completed the activities of the book, pages 180 to 185. 

Homework: due Wednesday 6th. 
Copy the new list of words and assign at least two key words to each that relate them to their meaning. 


Social Studies: American Revolution

Classwork: 
Students presented about the American Revolution and we completed a chart with the information given: 

-Moment in time (causes of the revolution) 
-Leaders and important Characters 
-Countries involved 
-Descriptions of the events
-Achievements and consequences. 

After the discussion we answered critical thinking questions:

1- What kind of help did the French give the Americans during their revolution against the British? Why did they help?

2-What challenges will the Americans face now that they have an independant country? How did they organized as a free nation?
